At the start of being editor in chief of Multivariate Behavioral Research I would like to state that it is my intention to continue the good policies followed by my immediate predecessors Keith Widaman and Steve West. That is, our journal publishes papers involving interesting new perspectives on quantitative methods/techniques as well as innovative applications of established techniques in the broad field of multivariate psychology. The current board of associate editors is extended with a new member: Dr. Zita Oravecz (http://www.zitaoravecz.net/), who is an expert in Bayesian statistics and stochastic modeling.

A new feature is that Multivariate Behavioral Research will start a special section entitled Quantitative Methods in Practice: Tutorials. The intended audiences are applied researchers who want (relatively) non-technical discussions/explanations of new quantitative methodologies; those who teach quantitative methods and would like articles to use in class that would be accessible to students with a wide variety of backgrounds; and graduate students, in either quantitative or substantive areas, who want to learn more about particular quantitative methods. Articles in the section, Quantitative Methods in Practice: Tutorials, would be those that offer accessible explanations of new or state of the art quantitative or measurement methods, articles that provide tutorials on such methods, and articles that summarize recent developments in a particular quantitative area and provide recommendations for best practice. For most articles, computer code (preferably using more than one stats package) should be provided. I herewith invite you to submit new manuscripts to Quantitative Methods in Practice: Tutorials!
