SUMMARY
Yeasts were isolated from decomposing fungi, largely mushrooms, but also from some fleshy Ascomycetes. Samples of high pH rarely yielded yeasts, but those of low pH usually did so. The following yeasts were identified: Saccharomyces cerevisiae, S. Chodati, S. dairensis, S. disporus, S. heterogenics, S. muciparis, Cryptococcus californicus, C. pulcherrimus, C. spaericus, C. utilis, C. uvae, Rhodotorula colosteri, R. glutinis.
