Increased Perithecium Formation and Hybridization in Flooded Cultures of a Homothallic Ascomycete

SUMMARY

Flooding or atomizing full-grown cultures of a homothallic form of Hypomyces solani with water alone hastened and increased perithecium formation. By applying conidial suspensions in both of these ways hybridization between two cultural strains was effected.
