SUMMARY
Coprinus atramentarius, C. comatus and C. micaceus were prepared in a number of ways and were eaten by a subject who was known to react to alcohol sensitizing drugs.
The Coprini produced no untoward effects and did not sensitize the subject to alcohol. Paneolus, however, produced a noticeable intoxication without the use of alcohol. It was suggested that the reports in the literature alleging that Coprini sensitize to alcohol might be explained by the accidental inclusion of Paneolus in the cooking vessel.
