Trichophyton Mentagrophytes Isolated from the Soil of Caves

SUMMARY

1.

During a mycological examination of soil from caves in the Transvaal, a macroconidium resembling M. gypseum was seen in one sample.

2.

T. mentagrophytes (asteroides type) was isolated from the soil of two caves.
