Sporangial Development in Lamproderma Arcyrionema

Pages 621-627 | Published online: 12 Sep 2018

SUMMARY

The development of Lamproderma arcyrionema is traced from the first emergence of the fruiting plasmodium on the surface of a rotten log to the final maturation of the sporangia. The formation of the stalk and capillitium is described and found to follow the pattern typical of members of the Stemonitaceae. The chromosome number is reported to be N = 53 ± 2.
