Pages 1185-1189 | Accepted 02 Oct 1968, Published online: 12 Sep 2018

SUMMARY

The successful crossing of a group of Trichophyton quinckeanum cultures with tester strains of Arthroderma benhamiae, the perfect state of T. mentagrophytes, demonstrated that this organism is not a valid species. T. quinckeanum thus is considered to be a rejected synonym of T. mentagrophytes.
