SUMMARY
A qualitative study was made of the mycofloras involved in the degradation of litter of Abies grandis, Pinus monticola, and Pinus ponderosa on sites located in northern Idaho. A total of 128 fungi were isolated. While no pronounced differences were noted in the mycofloras of the duff of different tree species, there was an evident succession of fungi as the leaf materials were degraded. Similarities and differences among species found during this study and those found by other investigators are noted.
