SUMMARY
Tests with automated controlled equipment were made on the effects of pH on macroconidium production in a strain of Gibberella zeae. Three nutrient regimes which varied in carbon source were selected for study. Sporulation occurred from pH 5 to 9 with an optimum at 8. Acetate stimulated and glucose appeared to inhibit sporulation. Spore measurements revealed no apparent differences in spore dimensions in any of the test media.
