SUMMARY
Tomentella ruttneri and T. bresadolae, having been confused with each other in the past because of their similarity, are redescribed herein with the diagnostic features of each emphasized. The cell wall phenomenon associated with T. ruttneri is further clarified, and both species are reported as additional members of the North American tomentelloid fungus flora. Supplementary data on distribution and substratum relationships are provided and photomicrographs are supplied in conjunction with species descriptions.
