SUMMARY
The new species Plectania milleri and Sarcosoma latahensis are described in the family Sarcoscyphaceae. Plectania milleri is closely related to P. melastoma but is distinguished from this and other species of sect. Plectania by its stellate margin and by the presence of dark, branched hyphae in the medullary excipulum. Sarcosoma latahensis is a highly gelatinous species with eguttulate ascospores and an extensive tomentum of smooth, subhyaline to olive brown hyphae. The new combination Sarcosoma mexicana (&z.tbd; Bulgaria mexicana Ellis & Holway) is also proposed.
Sarcosoma latahensis develops a Verticicladium conidial state when cultured on Thuja-Tsuga extract agar. Plectania milleri and S. mexicana form rudimentary stromata on this medium.
