SUMMARY
The morphology and nutritional requirements of Chloridium chlamydosporis were studied, based on 9 isolates from Norwegian soils and 2 foreign isolates. The fungus is thiamine heterotrophic and requires addition of zinc for maximum growth. Apparently calcium and manganese do not influence growth. C. chlamydosporis has a broad range of acceptable carbon compounds and it utilizes nitrate as a nitrogen source.
