SUMMARY
Coriaceous leaves of members of the Ericaceae and Empetraceae are hosts for 12 species of Ascomycetes with 1-celled ascospores. These fungi are assigned to 3 genera in different orders of the Ascomycetes. A key to assist in identification and a description of each species is provided. New taxa include: Botryosphaeria hyperborea sp. nov., Phomatospora gelatinospora sp. nov., Physalospora dearnessii sp. nov., Physalospora rhododendri var. albimontana var. nov. The new combinations Botryosphaeria vaccinii (= Guignardia vaccinii Shear), B. rhodorae (=Sphaerella rhodorae Cooke), B. diapensiae (=Physalospora diapensiae Rehm), Mycosphaerella millepunctata (=Dothidea millepunctata Desm.), and Phomatospora clarae-bonae (=Physalospora clarae-bonae Speg.) are proposed.
