A New Species of Penicillium

SUMMARY

A new species of Penicillium, characterized by unusual stroma-like, mostly sterile coremia, is described and given the name Penicillium pseudostromaticum. This species has been isolated from feathers of 24 species of birds in Minnesota, from old sporophore of Polyporus betulinus in New York and from cured tobacco in North Carolina.
