SUMMARY
Consistent and abundant sexual reproduction of Leptosphaeria avenaria f. sp. triticea (imperfect state Septoria averne f. sp. triticea) was induced by 50 days exposure to 1,200 ft-c of light filtered to retain only wavelengths greater than 560 mμ. Asexual reproduction was sparse and erratic in culture and not influenced by visible light. Fungal pigmentation in culture was influenced by the medium. Sexual reproduction in culture was related to reproduction in nature and to asexual reproduction reported for Septoria nodorum.
