The Genus Gomphidius with a Revised Description of the Gomphidiaceae and a Key to the Genera

SUMMARY

Three sections containing nine species and two varieties are described for the genus Gomphidius Fries including two new species and two new varieties. Additional ecological information and extended ranges of many of the taxa are reported. The monotypic genus Cystogomphus is included along with a key to the genera and a revised description of the Gomphidiaceae. Camera lucida drawings, photomicrographs, and photographs of many of the species are included.
