SUMMARY
This taxonomic study of the genus Clavicorona recognizes 11 species divided between two subgenera, Clavicorona (unbranched fruit bodies found in duff) and Ramosa subg. nov. (branched fruit bodies found on wood). Clavicorona coronata (Schw.) Doty is synonymized with C. pyxidata, and Clavicorona avellanea Leathers & Smith with C. piperata. Additions to species concepts and new distribution patterns are described for other species. Mat characteristics and fruit body development of C. pyxidata in culture are described and discussed in relation to the taxonomy of this species.
