SUMMARY
The aflatpxin-producing ability of cultures of Aspergillus flavus and A. parasiticus derived from room-temperature-dried conidia stored in closed jars remained relatively unchanged for periods of 21–34 mo. Viability of the conidia decreased during storage. There was a rapid loss of both viability and aflatoxin-producing ability of moist conidia under similar conditions within 21–60 da. Viability of conidia dried over a desiccant before harvest also decreased rapidly.
