SUMMARY
A new genus of the Tremellaceae, Efibulobasidium, is proposed to include Epidochium albescens and Exidia rolleyi. The basidiocarps of these two species are initially pustular but may become confluent and indeterminate in older specimens. Clamp connections are lacking on both the subhymenial hyphae and the fertile hyphae. The subglobose to pyriform basidia form two to four hypobasidial segments with the adjoining walls usually oriented longitudinally. The basidiospores are cylindrical-to fusiform-curved and flattened adaxially. The possible relationships of the genus are discussed.
