New Sources of Fungal Dextranase

&
Pages 845-851 | Accepted 17 Jan 1975, Published online: 12 Sep 2018

SUMMARY

Previously unreported dextranase activity was discovered in several species of Fusarium and in Penicillium roquefortii. One of the new sources of dextranase, Fusarium moniliforme, was selected for further study. The initial cultural pH affected both colony growth and dextranase production. A 14-da incubation period and an initial pH of 8 were optimal for dextranase production. The F. moniliforme dextranase was judged to be an inducible enzyme system.
