SUMMARY

The genus Schizoplasmodiopsis belongs to the family Protosteliidae of the Protostelia, a subclass of the Eumycetozoa. The trophic stage is characterized by amoeboid to plasmodial protoplasts with slender filose pseudopodia. The sporocarps consist of nondeciduous, mostly uninucleate spores borne singly at the tips of narrow tubular stalks. The present treatment further characterizes the type species, S. pseudoendospora, and describes three new species, reticulata, S. vulgare, and S. micropunctata. The generic description is emended. A key to the four known species is included.
