SUMMARY
A minute uniloculate gasteromycete has been discovered floating in petri dishes containing submerged hardwood twigs. The new taxon, Limnoperdon incarnatum, differs in several respects from the other uniloculate Gasteromycetes, Protogaster, Gasterella, and Gasterellopsis; its relationship to these and other Gasteromycetes is discussed and a new family, Limnoperdaceae, is erected to accommodate it. The new fungus has been grown and fruited on a chemically defined medium.
