SUMMARY
There were no significant differences in the ability to produce hormones between two A1 isolates each of Phytophthora parasitica and P. palmivora, and two A2 isolates of P. palmivora. However, one isolate of P. parasitica was a better hormone α2 producer than the other isolate tested. With the exception of A2 isolates of P. parasitica, different isolates of P. parasitica or P. palmivora differed in the degree of responsiveness to hormones. One A1 isolate and one A2 isolate of P. palmivora did not respond to hormone α2 and α1, respectively.
