Hormone Production and Reception Among Different Isolates of Phytophthora Parasitica and P. Palmivora

SUMMARY

There were no significant differences in the ability to produce hormones between two A¹ isolates each of Phytophthora parasitica and P. palmivora, and two A² isolates of P. palmivora. However, one isolate of P. parasitica was a better hormone α² producer than the other isolate tested. With the exception of A² isolates of P. parasitica, different isolates of P. parasitica or P. palmivora differed in the degree of responsiveness to hormones. One A¹ isolate and one A² isolate of P. palmivora did not respond to hormone α² and α¹, respectively.
