SUMMARY

Genistelloides hibernus is described as a new taxon of Trichomycetes (Harpellales, Legeriomycetaceae) discovered in the hindgut of Allocapnia vivipara (Plecoptera) nymphs from northeastern Kansas. It has been cultured axenically, the second genus of Harpellales whose members have been thus isolated. The trichospores resemble those of Legeriomyces spp., whereas the zygospore type is characteristic of members of other genera. The generic concepts within the order are discussed.
