SUMMARY
Sporangiospore ornamentation in nine thermophilic Rhizopus species and in species of two closely related genera, Rhizomucor and Thermomucor, was examined by scanning electron microscopy. Sporangiospores of all species showed characteristic surface ornamentations and this proved to be an important character for the separation of species.
