ABSTRACT

Teliospore morphology, teliospore germination and cytology between a bunt from Poa reflexa and Tilletia fusca from bromes and fescues are compared, and those of the P. reflexa bunt are distinct from T. fusca. The bunt from P. reflexa is separated from T. fusca and described as a new species (T. togwatii), with Tilletia fusca redefined. Spore germination and cytological data are discussed as supplemental criteria in the taxonomy of the bunt fungi.
