Aleurodiscus Occidentals Sp. Nov., A. Thujae Sp. Nov., And the A. Tsugae Complex in North America

ABSTRACT

Specimens of two new species from North America had been grouped under the name Aleurodiscus tsugae, a species that occurs in Japan on Tsuga diversifolia, has clamp connections, and has gloeocystidia which lack monilioid apices. Aleurodiscus occidentalis occurs on Thuja plicata in northwestern North America, and has both clamp connections and gloeocystidia with monilioid apices. Aleurodiscus thujae occurs on Thuja occidentalis in northeastern North America, and lacks clamp connections but has gloeocystidia with monilioid apices.
