Reexamination of Eight Taxa Originally Described in Leptosphaeria on Members of Asteraceae

ABSTRACT

Type material of eight nominal taxa previously placed in Leptosphaeria and originally described on species of Asteraceae were reexamined. Leptosphaeria anthophila is placed in synonymy with L. doliolum. Leptosphaeria trimerioides is transferred to Paraphaeosphaeria, and L. aulica and L. comatella are synonymous with Trichometasphaeria gloeospora, which is based on Sphaeria gloeospora (= L. gloeospora). The placement of L. lasioderma in Dothidotthia and L. derasa in Nodulosphaeria is supported, and L. derasa forma alpestris is a synonym of Nodulosphaeria derasa.
