Abstract
Selenaspora guernisacii has been collected in Oregon and is reported for the first time from North America. An unusual feature of the species is the presence of a membranous veil covering the hymenium in young specimens. At least four, more likely eight or more, nuclei are present in mature ascospores; most cells in the paraphyses contain two to four nuclei. Placement in the Sarcosomataceae is suggested.
