A simple technique for studying the development of Erysiphe pisi in the epidermis of Pisum sativum

Abstract

The epidermis of the stem of Pisum sativum is peeled off to study the growth of Erysiphe pisi conidia, and the host tissues can be analysed for biochemical changes induced by the pathogen.
