Abstract
The genus Rugosospora (Agaricales, Basidiomycota) comprises two species R. ochraceobadia, described from Africa, and R. pseudorubiginosa, described from México and Colombia. In this paper, the morphology, taxonomy, and nomenclature of R. pseudorubiginosa is discussed and its geographical distribution extended. Comparison of the basidiospore ornamentation of both species is based on scanning electron microscopy studies. A key to the species of the genus is provided. Lepiota epickaris var. occidentalis and Leucoagaricus rubrosquamosus are proposed as new synomyns of R. pseudorubiginosa.
