Abstract

Gelatinipulvinella astraeicola, a new genus and species of the tribe Calloriopsideae, Leotiaceae, is described with its anamorph. The teleomorph is found on the decaying peridium of a dead gasteromycete Astraeus sp. Colonies derived from single ascospores were yeast-like; conidia were produced basipetally on annellate conidiogeneous cells. The anamorph was similar in its conidial production to the genus Hyphozyma. It differed from Hyphozyma in lacking rhamnose in the cell wall, and by its yellowish colony color, as well as in physiological differences, and hence a new genus and species Aureohyphozyma astraeicola is established here. Micropyxis triblidariae is recombined in Gelatinopsis.
