Summary
Cool-storage experiments over two seasons with the apple varieties Ballarat, Jonathan, and Sturmer indicate that reducing storage temperature by steps from 38°F to 32°F does not produce more sound fruit than the present recommended practice of holding these varieties continuously at 37-38°F.
