Insects and mites associated with ryegrass

Summary

A survey of four ryegrass fields in the Palmerston North district was carried out from October 1956 to January 1957 with the aim of finding what arthropods were present.

Collembola and Acarina were thc main groups found, and several species were recorded for the first time.

The general tendency was for populations to increase as the season advanced.
