Abstract

Apple leaf sampies from a long-term fertiliser trial have been analysed to study the variation in content of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium. Fertiliser treatment had a marked effect on content of each element; differences within and between seasons were also apparent. Critical nutrient levels for apple foliage, suggested elsewhere, would seem to be largely applicable to New Zealand trees.
