Abstract
Apple leaf sampies from 67 commercial orchards in 2 districts have been analysed in each of 2 seasons. These resuits have been compared with those from fertiliser trials in New Zealand and with critical nutrient levels suggested elsewhere. Many orchards showed high nitrogen and low phosphorus levels but, in most instances, levels of potassium, magnesium, and calcium fell within the suggested limits, Littie difference in nutrient status was noted between apple leaves in the Hawke's Bay and Nelson districts.
