Barley quality tests

II. A note on responses to lime and phosphatic fertilisers

Abstract

The effects of lime and superphosphate on grain quality of barley were studied using sampIes from yield trials. Superphosphate produced an increase in kernel weight, but at high rates gave a decrease in enzyme activity in sampIes from plots which had been top-dressed with lime.
