Growth and development of sheep

I. A carcass dissection technique

Pages 190-222 | Received 23 Jan 1962, Published online: 06 Jan 2012

Abstract

A dissection technique for the study of sheep carcasses is described. A series of photograps taken at various stages during the dissection process shows the position of the different muscles. Illustrations of the muscle groups from different regions of the body show the shape and relative size of individual muscles. An attempt has been made to describe the location of each muscle to assist in its easy recognition.

This paper is the first of a series concerning growth and development in sheep.
