Abstract
Daily administration (0.8 g per kg of bodyweight) of cholestyramine, a bile acid-binding anion exchange resin, appears to affect the course of the disease produced by dosing sheep with the toxic fungal metabolite, sporidesmin (1 mg per kg bodyweight). Cholestyramine has no detrimental effect on normal sheep.
It is suggested that the beneficial effects of cholestyramine on sporidesmin intoxication may be improved by changes in the experimental conditions.
