Radio transmission of sheep's jaw movements

Pages 468-473 | Received 09 Sep 1965, Published online: 05 Jan 2012

Abstract

The electrical potentials of a sheep's jaw muscles during grazing and cudding are collected by special electrodes, amplified, and transmitted by a small portable transmitter. The received signals are recorded on a tape-recorder or displayed on a chart-recorder. Grazing, cudding, and loafing periods are clearly differentiated.
