Abstract

Two seed-borne diseases of barley, net blotch caused by Drechslera teres and leaf stripe caused by Drechslera graminea, are described and their history, transmission, significance, and control in New Zealand are discussed. Until recently these two diseases have been confused and misidentified in New Zealand.
