Abstract

Venturia asperata Samuels & Sivanesan sp. nov. was isolated from apple leaves in New Zealand. The ascospores of this species measure 10–14 × 4–5 µm and are septate slightly below the middle. Colonies derived from solitary ascospores produced a Fusicladium state.
