Self-incompatibility in Cordyline pumilio (Agavaceae)

Pages 93-95 | Received 31 May 1982, Published online: 20 Feb 2012

Abstract

Controlled pollinations between 2 plants of Cordyline pumilio Hook. f. showed that each sets no or few seed when selfed but abundant seed when crossed by the other. This result, supported by additional crossing evidence and field observations, indicates that the species is self-incompatible.
