Taxonomic changes in Asplenium (Aspleniaceae; Filicales) in New Zealand

Abstract

Asplenium flaccidum Forst. f. subsp. haurakiense Brownsey, and A. obtusatum Forst. f. subsp. northlandicum Brownsey are shown to represent species distinct from subsp. flaccidum and subsp. obtusatum, respectively, and are elevated to full species status, as A. haurakiense and A. northlandicum, respectively. Similarly, A. gracillimum Col. is a species distinct from A. bulbiferum subsp. bulbiferum and this name is preferred over A. bulbiferum Forst. f. subsp. gracillimum (Col.) Brownsey.
