In addition to the information presented, successful mother guidance demands a thorough knowledge of child development, knowledge of the function and structure of a neurosis and an appreciation of the complexities of analytically oriented psychotherapy. Not only is mother guidance an effective preventive technique for the troubled child, but the mother learns a great deal which assists her in the upbringing of all her children.
