Abstract
SUMMARY
The theoretical background for this paper is gestalt therapy in a wider sense, especially the possibilities with this kind of therapy for structuring a teaching situation.
The paper describes the use of structured teaching in the post-graduate training of various professional groups working in psychiatric institutions and with social welfare. On the basis of several years experience with such work, a model is developed which can be used by psychologists in post-graduate training of these groups. With participant supervision, the psychologists learn to work systematically with the training of others. The model involves work with experiencing basic concepts of psychotherapy and also includes the groups' experiences from the daily routine. The theoretical teaching is given on the basis of the activities of the group and of the members' daily work.
At the “Institute for Clinical Psychology” of the University of Copenhagen young post-graduate psychologists are trained with this method.
