SUMMARY
The concept of the activity of man—as developed by the cultural-historical school of psychology—is analyzed and applied with reference to medical work. Among other things, the power behind the activity of man, his needs, objects of needs and the development of capacities in the course of personality-development are analyzed and discussed in relation to examples taken from the work in a hospital. The distinction between activities developing personality and activities reproducing personality is also outlined and exemplified in relation to the activity in medical work.
