Abstract

Since the mid-1970s, the geography of Third World development has become an important field in Norway, influencing geographical ideas and interpretations. This issue shows that development geographers are deeply involved in matters of social and ecological concern. Six articles concentrate on two broad fields: rural problems in the Third World, and the relocation of Western industry and the international division of labour.
