Abstract
The landscape is a complex surface influenced by a variety of factors (e.g. vegetation, soil, geology, land use and human impacts) in addition to topography. The realization of the importance of the topography in determining a range of physical processes, however (Moore et al. 1991, Pennock et al. 1987), has increased interest in focusing on the topographical factor alone. This is central to this paper, where a landscape classification is carried out only by regarding the topographical aspect of the landscape.
