Abstract
Nakhoda linearis, gen. et sp. nov. (Dermanyssidae) is described from a Malaysian insectivore, Echlnosorex gymnurus (Raffles) (Erinaceidae). It is certainly a laelapine genus, but the structural modifications induced (presumably) by the semi- aquatic habits and the long geological history of its host combine to make comparison with other genera difficult.
